Hello and Happy Friday. I did pretty well with points while I was away for the past few days, except for a bit of a cheese frenzy. It was just they had such nice cheese at this drinks reception thing and it was free. So I ate that up, but I made it my dinner (with a bowl of fruit) and I didn't have a second glass of wine as planned. Also, I managed a run on Wednesday, but only went about 30 minutes and 3 miles. It felt like maybe there was a bit of ankle action happening and I don't want to get bursitis again!
Last night was the Indian food dinner out. I must say I did pretty well! Can you believe it? I researched low point options and found that a 1/4 tandoori chicken would be only 3 mere points so that's what I went with. There was a moment when it got tense - the couple we were with had a sort of 'everybody shares everything' situation in mind. I couldn't tell about ww because a) I just met these people last night and b) I didn't want to go into how I know I don't need to lose any more weight as I am close to goal, I just want to get there and c) the gal is a slightly bigger gal and is obviously not bothered nor should she be and I don't want to imply that I think she should by indicating that I am - does that make sense? So I made a joke about being a picky eater and so don't mind me kind of thing. That worked and it was fun and they were really nice. I did have some bread and a few of the mint chocolates that came with the bill, but overall a huge success for me in terms of restraint. There is hope! (maybe...)
Today is the second day in a row that I woke up with a sore throat, and the one today hasn't gone away. I have a presentation to give a week from Tuesday and can not afford to get sick just now! I was torn about whether to go for a run today. I was really looking forward to seeing if I could go the whole 5 miles again, but I don't want to ruin myself for future runs - or for work of course. I had to walk into town today to pick up a prescription (earning 1 point for 30 mins of 'low' activity level) and it felt FREEZING. So I decided to forgo the run - if I feel better I can always go for one tomorrow or Sunday instead, and still earn the points for this week. Tonight there is a party and I'm debating whether or not to go. I probably shouldn't to be safe, but I really want to as it's the first one to which we've been invited since we moved here and we don't really have any friends up in here and so I should take advantage of the opportunity! The plan is to go easy on the drinks and to come home early. Let's see how that goes. Hope you all are well, sore throat and headache free, and having great weeks.
